Introduction to Genealogy

Join local genealogy researcher Debra Mann for a four-week Introduction to Genealogy series designed for beginners. This group learning experience will be tailored to the questions and research interests of registered participants.
Learn how to access Ancestry.com through your library, search for and interpret historical records, and approach your research with a genealogist’s eye. Debra will also introduce useful message boards and online resources discovered through her more than 20 years of research.
Genealogy can also reveal the emotional stories behind our family histories. Debra will explore this personal side of the research process and discuss how uncovering the past can connect us to our families and communities.
No experience is required. Please bring a notebook and/or electronic device for taking notes and following along.
Registration is required and covers all four sessions (September 4, 11, 18 & 25).
