Get a Library Card
Resident Membership
Library cards are free to anyone who lives or owns property in Grey Highlands, or contracting municipalities. These include residents of West Grey and Chatsworth. In order to get a Library card, we require a piece of photo identification and proof of address.
To obtain a library card, bring in a piece of identification with your CURRENT address, such as a driver’s license, vehicle ownership, hospital card, or utility bill. Children younger than 14 years of age will require a parent, guardian or caregiver to sign up with them.
Visit or call any branch or use our general email: [email protected].
Non-Resident Membership
If you are not a resident of these communities, there is a membership fee of $65.00.
Temporary Membership
We can issue temporary memberships to those who are non-residents and wish to use the Library for a brief time (e.g. you may be vacationing in the area). Temporary memberships require a $25.00 deposit + $10.00 for the first and $5 for each additional month. The deposit is refundable upon the return of materials and the Library card.
Replacement Cards
If your Library card is lost or misplaced, there is a $2.00 replacement fee. Note: At this time, we only accept cash. No credit or debit. If you lose your card or need to change your address or update your contact information, visit or call any branch or email [email protected].
Renewal of Memberships
Library cards will be renewed every two years and members will receive a notice of when their card is expiring. This will ensure that all information is up-to-date.
With your Library card you can:
- Use it at any branch in Grey Highlands (Flesherton, Markdale, Kimberley), as well as Meaford and the Blue Mountains Public Library.
